CW: Medical experiments, torture, loss of loved ones, attempted sexual assault, women treated as property

Well sadly this was not as engaging as book one.
The romance storyline felt forced, fast and, quite frankly, awkward. The menacing characters were also a bit overcooked. The conclusion was satisfying in terms of tying up the duology but in the end, this fell flat for me....see what I did there? ( )

The book this time has Amy out in Texas searching for supplies and somewhere to be save and hide out Baby has Baby has been token from her by the Doctor who is running test on her and now Amy is looking for him while she is looking she gets picked up by her professer to go and they go to a lab where they discover Amy's mom is still alive and was at work before all this happened and has been hiding out and Amy has found out that her mom is also in the proseidure of seeing why the floriance wont attack her and they find out that she is one of them and the floriance bite u it is game over you will become a florance and will feast on the corpses of others and Amy sees this in action at camp ford when one of them gets in to the camp and goes on a massive, killing sprea.

In general this book is even better then the first on I couldn't stop reading that I would not even touch my phone and I felt like I was in the charecters shoes and to me that means it is a really good book and I recomed reading this amazing book. ( )

The book, In The End, is about Amy (a girl from the first book) trying to get back to New Hope to go save Baby, the toddler she helped. She left Baby in New Hope, and once Dr. Reynolds, an evil doctor trying to kill Amy, found out he immediately took Baby to experiment on her. She, before she arrived at New Hope, was bitten by a Florae and should've turned into one, but she didn't. They believe that there is something in her blood that is stopping the Florea virus from getting to her. Amy wanted to save her, take her back into the shadows, and live in silence. However, she could not rescue Baby on her own. She needed help. Kay, her friend that taught her how to be a Guardian, suggested Ken, Kay's brother. And Amy had to travel to Fort Black. When she arrived, she thought that it was just another human rehabilitation place, but it wasn't. It was a prison. There, she met Jack, a strong but kind man. He helped her find Ken. But then there was Tank, a buff, coldhearted man that has a past of strangling younger women. She was careful to avoid him. Eventually, after avoiding Tank, fitting in, trying not to get killed for many months, they found Ken. At first, Ken was hesitant to help her, but after a lot of convincing, he finally decided he would. They took a hover-copter back to New Hope. When they got there and found Baby, there was a little surprise waiting there also, Dr. Reynolds! He tried to kill her, but failed. Instead, he shot Rice, a guy that helped her while she stayed in New Hope before. She eventually got Baby and was so excited to see her. She had so much to say. But Baby didn't recognize her. Even though Amy was shocked that Baby didn't know her, she still took the helpless child with her. And, as they spent more time together, Baby started to remember Amy. All seemed well, but she realized that something was missing, Jack. The guy that saved her from Tank. The guy that helped her find Ken. The guy she trusted. And she left him. And now she wanted to see him. She called him and told him to come live in New Hope. He didn't want to, but then realized it could be with her, so he agreed She had all the people in her life that she needed and more. And that was more than enough.
Side Note: I assumed that he came to New Hope and there, they rebuilt New Hope, after it was later destroyed by Floraes that Dr. Reynolds let out. It didn't say, but I think that's what happened.

In my opinion, this book had me intrigued throughout the entire book. I never wanted to put it down. The way it built suspense, it gave you chills running down your spine once you found out. And at some points, you felt as if you were Amy. As if all those things happening to her were happening to you. It left you guessing what could happen next. I really thoroughly enjoyed this book. Droll dark comic drama about a man (Reynolds) who finds that he hasn't any longer to live and has screwed up his endeavors at suicide. ... He at that point chooses to end everything by submitting suicide. One night he takes a lethal overdose of pills and gets up the following morning in the room of a mental clinic. ( )

In the End is about Amy finding her way after being kicked out of New Hope. After Amy is kicked out of New Hope Amy has to find Fort Black. Amy walks 30 miles and finally gets to Fort Black. Fort Black is a prison that has tall walls that keeps the monsters out. There are guards on top of the wall that shoot monsters. Amy meets a man named Jacks who saves Amy tons of times. Jack is in charge of Amy, but everywhere Amy goes she makes trouble.

There are not a lot of woman in Fort Black. They all got sick thanks to Jacks dad. Jacks dad contacts Dr.Reynolds and tries to kill Amy. Amy left her sister Baby behind at Fort Black. Dr.Reynolds is experimenting on Baby because Baby survived a Florae bite. Amy runs away from Fort Black and goes to New Hope. Amy is undercover and eventually gets to Baby with the help of her friends. Amy gets Baby who at first does not remember who Amy is. ( )
