It's fun conversational tone makes this book approachable. I've never read a style book before so I can't tell you about the originality of his tips, but George's rules seem accessible and worth trying out. I found the end a bit lackluster (transform your man! Get catcalled!) but I don't think that the whole book had that message. Although it is unfortunate that it's what the top reviewer called out and what any one who goodreads searches this sees first, lord knows I wouldn't have read it had it seen that! ( ) Clothes are a signal for who we are inside, and stylist George wants to help you bring that out. Much of his advice has been repeated elsewhere for an earlier generation, including core wardrobe items, proper fit via tailoring, and not choosing comfort at the exclusion of style, but the author's voice is friendly and supportive. The lack of illustrations both keeps the advice more timeless and makes it tricky for a reader to envision the style choices. The author's generous offer to review a reader's outfit via social media is a novel addition to the genre. Publisher provided galley access via NetGalley.com.
