After the second book I really was not sure if I wanted to keep reading this series, but I am glad I picked up book three. The writing style was so much better and brought me back to why I loved booked one. It was almost like book two was a different author. This book was an easy read and I read it only in a few days. I loved the love connection between Daiemon and Katy and loved seeing their relationship grow! I also love how other characters were brought back to life in this book which I felt were lacking in the previous. The spoiler at the end ( you have to read it) was good and now I cannot wait to read the next book in the series! It leaves you wanting more. I am giving this 3.5 stars. I started this when I got off work and I already finished it tonight. I will say, I skipped a ton and focused on the dialogue between characters. I also skipped the love scenes to get back to the action. However; I still really liked this book. I have to say it had a lot more action and was really fast paced. I did take off one star due to the characters not focusing on being trapped by the government and often being more consumed with wanting to physically be together than anything. I just feel that is odd if you know your life is in danger and you are more about staying in a room for hours at a time than saving your and your families life. I really did like the build up to the war that is brewing, but I have to agree with some other reviews. I feel the series is starting to drag on, and it did not have to take as many books to have been a great series. I will continue the series since I am this far into it and want to see what happens, but I may need to take a few weeks off before diving into the next book to maybe appreciate it a little more. 4.5/5 Stars
It was a bit of a slow start for me, but once it really got going, I was hooked as I was with the first two books; especially once it got about 130 pages in.
The people that got involved in some of the story, was just amazingly shocking. I wasn't expecting them! And even the expected betrayals happened I was still amazed at how they happened but not totally shocked.
Some things in Opal were a bit more predictable in some areas, but I know a lot of it is leading up to what will happen in Origin. There have been parts that I asked myself if a character or two had lost their ever-loving mind! It was because some things were done that if they had been caught by some people, they would have been "tortured" to no end then maybe hung by their toenails! lol
So far, what I have been reading in Origin, many things will be explained; some may be truth, some may not be, but I think things will become a little more clear by the end of Origin.
Opal got a very strong 4.5/5 for me. It had it's not so perfect parts, but as usual, I laughed, swooned and just flat out loved the characters I always loved. It was fun, while hard to get past some parts for one reason or another (not in the negative sense that would make a person dislike the book, not to me anyway).
A part of me is ready to get to the last book and finish it so I can see what's going to happen, at the same time, it's hard for me to want it to end because I love the characters so much and these books are so well written.

These books and their daggone cliffhangers! That's why I am so glad I don't have to wait! Glad I chose to give into the hype right before the 5th and final book came out!
Now, will I go on to Opposition right away, I don't know..I probably will..with just a bit of a break in there..or maybe read a small book in between. We'll see...
But this book? It had it's moments I got bored, but I think that had more to do with me reading these books back to back to see WTHeck was going to happen and to hurry up and get to Opposition!
Some things were a bit predictable and I had figured out some things about someone before it was revealed in the book..But I was still glad that it was said! But I half yelled out I knew it! lol
This book was intense! And sometimes I didn't completely realize how tense I was until the situation was over! Again, this type of intensity from a book hasn't happened since Twilight for me. Never this much emotion coming from me when it comes to books. There have been books I have loved and felt some type of emotion for, but usually not as strong as the Lux Series and Twilight Saga pulled out of me! I have a huge case of book hangover after I've read both books/series.
The good great & most wonderful thing about the Lux series is though, Kat doesn't take Daemon's crap! lol She isn't a huge heap up insecurity! Like most people, she has her issues and maybe even deal with a little insecurity here and there, but she is definitely no Bella Swan. She works on my nerves sometimes with some things, especially in Onyx, but over all, I love her! And I still think Daemon is a big gorgeous Alien! ( )
