This is a fun, touching, and somewhat unusual story about two guys finally finding love together. The beginning is somewhat depressing, but Josh, dressed up as Cupid, quickly hatches a brilliant plan. His idea of showing Dallas how gay he really is made me smile – too bad Austin interrupts. On the other hand, Austin is so clearly in love with Dallas that it really shouldn't have been necessary for Josh/Cupid to do anything at all.

Dallas is a great guy who is convinced he is straight. When his fiancée breaks up with him by having Josh/Cupid read a pretty nasty poem to him, he is devastated. He has no idea why she says he is gay – but Josh/Cupid manages to show him the beginning of the way. The enthusiasm with which Dallas reacts speaks for itself.

Austin is Dallas's roommate and told Dallas he is celibate, but as the two begin to talk (following Josh/Cupid's fast disappearing act - into a closet, of all places!) it becomes clear this "celibacy" is for very different reasons than I suspected. I loved how Austin reacted to Dallas's sudden openness and I greatly enjoyed watching their first few steps into a new phase of their relationship.

If you like sweet stories that allow a "real life Cupid" to play the role of matchmaker, if you enjoy reading about unusual, yet still very romantic Valentine's Days, and if you're looking for a read that is s funny as it is sweet, then you will probably like this Valentine's short story.

Cute story. I like Xavier Mayne's humor and Josh is just hilarious. I've read some of the other stories with Josh as the cupid (in the others he's more figuratively the cupid -- no costume involved :)) and now I just want him to get his HEA. :) ( )
