I found the romance lacking but the prose was great. ( ) For the most part, I did enjoy this romp of a romance. This is not for the under 18 readers because of sexual content. I voluntarily chose to review this story and I've given it a 4* rating. This Historical romance with it's Dukes and my ladies was a little bit all over the place with the new Duke learning how to be a Duke. This former rake, soon got to learn about his child and so many new things but most of all was how to be proper. You get pulled in very fast and it does have some funny bits in it. Reading this was like eating a cupcake. With sprinkles. It was just so sweet. If there were a scale to measure the quantity of angst in a book, this novel would rank around a 12 out of 100, and that's pushing it. I love how Rose is such a central part of the story and that both Marcus and Lily have to look past themselves in order to ensure Rose's happiness. In doing so, not only does Rose gain an adoring father, but she gains a new loving mother, as well. Read the review on my blog here. An entertaining read - A reluctant, reprobate Duke who didn't expect to attain the title, the businesswoman trying to climb out of difficult circumstances, and the bastard child that brings them together. While the story had its funny moments, I did find that the author cracked herself up more than she did this reader, but it was fun to read. The Duke tended toward immaturity, providing a perfect foil to the governess to his child who was able to teach him how to grow up as well. keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen

All of London knows the Duke of Rutherford has position and wealth. They also whisper that he's dissolute, devilish, and determinedly unwed. So why, everyone is asking, has he hired a governess? When Miss Lily Russell crosses the threshold of the Duke of Rutherford's stylish townhouse, she knows she has come face to face with sensual danger. For this is no doting papa. Rather, his behavior is scandalous, and his reputation rightly earned. And his pursuit of her is nearly irresistible--but resist she must for the sake of her pupil. As for the duke himself, it was bad enough when his unknown child landed on his doorstep. Now Lily, with her unassuming beauty, has aroused his most wicked fantasies--and, shockingly, his desire to change his wanton ways. He's determined to become worthy of her, and so he asks for her help in correcting his behavior. But Lily has a secret, one that, if it becomes known, could change everything...
