It's been six months since Charlotte and Kyle broke up, and the Husband Maker strikes again. Kyle is officially engaged, while Charlotte is still nursing a broken heart. In an effort to get Charlotte out of her rut, she and her best friend decide it's time for some good old-fashioned matchmaking. While Aleena arranges for Charlotte to meet up with a handsome Scottish tourist, Charlotte gets her two best friends together. But when sparks start to fly between Aleena and Angus, Charlotte is left feeling more alone that ever--at least until the charming Scotsman becomes more than just a safe, rebound guy and teaches her that maybe, just maybe, she can dare to open her heart again.… (mehr)

"Matchmaker, Matchmaker,
Make me a match,
Find me a find,
Catch me a catch,
Night after night in the dark I'm alone
So find me match,
Of my own."

Lyrics from Fiddler on the Roof

The Match Maker by Karen White is the continuation of The Husband Maker Series which began with the book by the same title. Charlotte has spent that time nursing a broken heart and now it's time to get out there again. Charlotte needs to move on and find her own Mr. Right.

The characters are believable and also lovable. This has been a fun series to keep up with. I continue to be disappointed in Charlotte and her choices, but I continue to hope that all will turn out correctly (in my mind) as I look forward to the third, and final, installment which is upcoming in 2015.

Karey White is a creative author, excellent wordsmith and an author worth following.

I highly recommend The Match Maker by Karey White and give it five steaming, heart-warming, cups of Room With Books coffee!

Charlotte has quite a reputation when it comes to men. It seems that once someone breaks up with her, they marry the next person they date. Unfortunately for Charlotte, this is the case with her most recent relationship as well. She thought this one was forever, but things didn't work out that way. Now Charlotte is trying to find a way to move on, and this includes jumping right back in to the dating pool. She also tries to match up two of her best friends. When everything seems to be working out though, Charlotte begins having second thoughts.

I was eager to read this book having read the first, and it did not disappoint. Charlotte is still very easy to relate to. I love that she's a very real, natural character. After finding out what has happened with her ex Kyle, she takes some time to be upset and depressed. Then she quickly takes good advice and gets back out there. She's a bit resistant, but she manages to find ways to move on. This makes the story feel like something that could happen to any of us. As things progress, Charlotte is forced to really ponder her life and how she perceives things.

Of course, the big plot point in this book is one I saw coming from the first book, so it was no surprise to me. However, it again felt very real. These characters have decided what is best for their lives, and sometimes trying to make the most of your current life makes things messy in other areas. I cannot wait to see how all of this is resolved in the next book. There is a definite open ending here. If you loved the first book you will love this one as well. And if you haven't read the first book, well what are you waiting for?

Can a girl who has been called "the husband maker" ever find true love with Mr. Right, a perfect man that she can call her own?

In the first book of The Husband Maker series, The Husband Maker, author Karey White introduces the reader to Charlotte, who is unlucky when it comes to love. Since high school, every guy that she has dated has gone on to marry the next girl they dated. She has been called "The Husband Maker" and questions why she can't find Mr. Right, and what has she done wrong. But when she meets Kyle Aldsworth, a Senator's son with political aspirations of his own, she is swept off her feet. Now in the second book of the series, The Match Maker, Charlotte's story picks up six month later after she has suffered a broken heart from Kyle. Charlotte tries to shake it off and move on by playing matchmaker for her best friends Aleena and Angus, only to find her own heart beating fast for a charming Scotsman tourist named Flynn! Can Charlotte open heart up once again in order to find true love? Will Flynn be "The Husband Maker's" Mr Right?

The Match Maker is the second book in The Husband Maker series that continues to follow Charlotte's journey of finding true love. Author Karey White weaves a wonderful contemporary romance story set in San Francisco and Scotland, that is lighthearted, whimsical, and fun. It easily draws the reader into Charlotte's story as it unfolds with a nice mixture of clean romance, drama, and humor. I enjoyed following Charlotte's dating journey filled with dramatic ups and downs, and how she navigates her way through romances while discovering herself along the way. But alas, the reader is left wanting more with a cliffhanger ending, only to see what becomes of Charlotte and Flynn's relationship in the third book of the series, The Wife Maker, which will be published in the Spring of 2015!

The Match Maker is a sweet romantic story that is a delightful read for all romance fans!

5 STARS

I knew from the start of the book I would not like the ending. I was right I have to wait till the next book to have my ending. I did not want the book to end! I love the characters. I like Charlotte and want her to have a happy ever after.
Flynn is a good friend to Charlotte he is from Scotland. Flynn makes me want to go to Scotland too.

The setting for this book takes place around San Frisco area and in Scotland. Two different types of places.

Charlotte gets the idea to set her best friend Angus up with another good friend Aleena. Angus has been Charlotte and Will's best friend since they were young. You can see right off the conflict that this will bring.

The story is told well and holds your attention. You feel with Charlotte as she goes up and down trying to get over her broken heart again. This is full of drama, romance, characters that you want to know more about. It is also a clean read.

I love the different settings in the book. Makes me want to discover them too.

Only till Feb the next book comes out. After all the drama I sure hope things have a more peaceful ending. I will not feel bad if it comes out sooner. So yes I want to read more from Karey White in the future.

I was given this ebook to read and in return I agreed to give a honest review of the Match Maker and be part of it's blog tour. ( )
