Although I'm not a fan of romance, I am a fan of paranormal and Of Fear and Faith marks everything I look for in a paranormal adventure! I was pulled in right from the beginning with the promises of ancient prophecies and various deities that do not disappoint! Although the story may start of a bit slow, it's worth it to stick around. When it picked up, I was on the edge of my seat until the very last page, and I can't wait to read the next book in the series! ( )

I was happy to have won this book through LibraryThing's Member's Giveaway program. Unfortunately, I didn't enjoy the book as much as I thought I would. I did enjoy the storyline but I found it hard to follow in places. While I enjoyed the various, interesting characters, I just really wasn't connecting with them. I did enjoy the monster called the adze but found some of the background on the witches, monsters, shape shifters, legends, etc. a bit on the confusing side. Overall this book was just ok. ( )

I freely chose to review this ARC and was riveted to my seat as I rapidly read the first book of the series where gods tamper with other beings of the supernatural! Some serial killer is killing minor witches in a gruesome way and it's up the detective Assefa Berber of the FBI's secrets division of paranormal investigations and Sanura Williams, a psychology professor to locate the killer. Not only is she a professor but unknown to humans, she is a fire witch! The pair find a spark of lust between them and have to learn to trust the other if they want to find the killer, but each is afraid that when their secrets are unveiled that the other will run! Now, I have to read book 2 ( )

An unusual PNR story. I'm a big fan of all things mythology and folklore and this book has quite a bit of Egyptian mythology and African folklore. For me, this is new because I have not ventured into these particular myths till now. I love the concept of witches and their familiars being soul mates. Tha is also a new one for me. Overall I enjoyed this book quite a bit and had a bit of a tough time putting it down. There is plenty of action and drama and a whole host of unusual preternatural creatures that PNR fans will enjoy.

Content, content, content. You cannot get around the authentic feel of this one. There was a feel of realness to this one. I could almost transport myself to this time, place, and scene as it was taking place. The words came off the pages to engage and entice you to believe. I absolutely love paranormal read of all kinds. I love even more paranormal romance. Add to that there was something of all the paranormal supernatural genres that kept me turning pages and getting excited for what was coming next.

Gods, goddess, witches, demons, destiny, death, and then there was more. Getting immersed in this world of paranormal/supernatural activities was a breeze. ND Jones made the flow enjoying and inviting. The mix of romance and mystery with some suspense all capped in a paranormal world packed in Baltimore.
