Stories about angels, heaven, and what happens to us after we die totally fascinate me. Maybe because there are so many different ones, or maybe because I like to follow others' thought experiments. But whatever it is, the blurb for this story had me hooked before I'd even opened the book. Brian needs to redeem himself after dying in a car accident he caused by driving too fast. He only gets one shot, and the pressure is on from the moment Peter gives him his assignment. Needless to say, Brian doesn't have a clue how to go about it and bumbles along pretty much like he did in life. His intentions may be good, but his actions leave a lot to be desired! Kevin, the guy whose life Brian is supposed to save, has it tough. He thought college would be easier than high school where he was bullied mercilessly, since people mature and all that, but he is stuck with Chuck, a homophobic roommate and his friends who constantly harass him. No wonder Kevin looks depressed all the time and spends more time in the cafeteria than in his room! Chuck - well, I cannot say too much about him because that would sort of spoil the surprise. But one thing is certain: he is a great guy! If you like stories about characters who learn to be better people, even after death, if you enjoy reading about men who find love in the most unexpected places, and if you're looking for a fun, thoughtful story with a couple of absolutely brilliant twists at the end, then you will probably like this novella. I totally adore it and the message it sends! NOTE: This book was provided by Dreamspinner Press for the purpose of a review. Zeige 2 von 2 keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
When Brian Matheson dies at nineteen, his soul is in limbo. He has one chance to redeem himself before he's thrown into a nasty pit. All Brian has to do is save the life of Kevin Anderson, a boy he and his friends tormented for being gay. Kevin thought he'd finally escaped bullying. But his college roommate, Chuck, and his homophobic pals, prove him wrong. Now he can only wait for another room to open up--and try to keep his eyes off sexy, uber-straight Chuck. Chuck is struggling to keep up the tough-guy fa#65533;ade everyone expects, but being trapped in a dorm room with the prettiest twink he's ever seen isn't helping him keep his feelings hidden. If Brian can untangle this mess, he'll deserve his wings. Keine Bibliotheksbeschreibungen gefunden. |

Sweet, short story about redemption and helping others. Eli Easton puts a lovely new little twist on this kind of "having to make amends after death" kind of story. Add in the little specks of humour and you have a lovely little tale. ( )
