These poems were so cute and reminds me a lot of Dr. Suess little rhymes and riddles. I think the best and easiest part of this book for children to understand is that the author uses many rhyme words, so it might influence children reading this book to try and create their own rhymes. ( )

This is a great collection of poems told thru the eyes of a adolecent perspective. It talks about and makes light of things and circumstances that could possbly come up in the daily life of a child.

It would inspire children to get interested in poetry, and give them ideas to maybe write their own poems This book gets poetry down to a level that the children can understand Poems that rhyme are easy for kids to relate to but since all these poems do rhyme it might give kids the false thought that poems have to sound alike.

In a classroom setting we could use this collection in a number of ways. For example, we could use it as a guide to get them motivated to writing their own poems. We could also use ths to talk as a group about everyday trials that the students may face as they enter the schoolhouse each day. ( )

Without being Shel Silverteen or Dr. Suess, this collection of poems comes pretty close in the goofy and silly poems category. It is a great read aloud and again they are categorized so you can kind of pick what you are looking for.

This book gives a collection of poems told in a childlike perspective. It tells about different events that could happen in a child's day in a poetic format.

I think this is a good book of poetry because it is told from a child's perspective. It would inspire children to get interested in poetry and maybe write their own poems. I like the rhyming in each poem, however, I think it would give children the misconception that every poem must rhyme.

As an extension, it may be a good idea to encourage the kids to write their own poetry either on their own or as a class. Also, you may want to have a discussion about what makes these poems poetry and about other types of poems other than rhyming.
