Awarded 5 Stars by popular book site, Readers' Favorite, this is Amazon bestselling teen author K T Bowes' first in the Troubled series for teenagers. Sophia Armitage has a secret that will make everyone see her differently. She's a decent girl from a good family. They have worked hard to end up on 'the right side of the tracks' in the central north island town of Hamilton in New Zealand. But things are never quite what they seem and for the troubled teen, life at the failing high school in the north of the city starts to horribly unravel. Finally pushed too far by a group of girls whose only purpose in life is to make her existence a misery, Sophia is forced to fight back, ending in disastrous consequences. Sophia's painful crush on Dane McArdle, the alpha male of the poisonous little group from the wrong side of town, unleashes a whole host of trouble onto Sophia's head. Their families are so different and yet who gets to decide which side of the tracks is the right side and once you've landed on the wrong side, what will be the cost of crossing back over?… (mehr)

Young adult fiction. Set in New Zealand this story deals with issues of abuse and school bullying. Many teenagers would identify with the woes of high school I imagine, I was surpised by how a school system could be unaware and unprepared to deal with class bullies and the conspiracy and complicity of silence that those being bullied would maintain.
