I was bothered by some sexist cliches and stereotypes, and how all the females had waists the same sizes as their wrists, while the boy characters were more varied. ( )

Delia Bean loves science, but her friends and family don't share her passion. When they go to visit Uncle Lyndon, he reveals to her that he is the curator of the Earth Time Museum, which he founded in the year 5079. And Delia is chosen to be part of an intern selection process, along with five other kids from various times/places. Over the course of three trials, the kids struggle over whether to compete or cooperate as they face danger in the form of dinosaurs and the Grey Earl, a sneaky time traveler. ( )

This is a story about a group of time travelers coming together to form a group of super heroes. This story could be used to help spark students interest in history or museums. This story would be best suited for intermediate grades. ( )

THE TIME MUSEUM by Matthew Loux combines science and time travel for a graphic novel likely to have broad appeal.
When Delia finds out that her uncle runs the Earth Time Museum, she decides to train for an internship. Ultimately, a team of young people from across time come together to form a team of time traveling superheroes. The high-quality artwork will keep readers engaged in the action from start to finish.
Librarians will find this first book in a new middle grade graphic novel series to be popular among a wide range of readers including those who enjoy science fiction, fantasy, and superheroes. It’s possible that the historical connections to places such as the Library of Alexandria may jumpstart an interest in history too.
