(5) | Keine | Blake Vanguard, ex-Navy SEAL and entrepreneur, is unable to come to terms with the circumstances of his wife's horrific death. Using his military fighting skills, he seeks revenge on the organization he blames for her untimely demise - The Church of Consummate Redemption. Having lost everything over his obsession, Blake is reduced to mundane private detective work before a beautiful woman with a tragic story hires him. The case he takes on clashes with the local police who are investigating a string of mutilations and gruesome deaths. With the clues piling up, it appears that an apocalyptic religious order may be responsible for these heinous acts. As the stakes rise with each passing day, the mystery grows to one of international proportions. Will Blake succumb to his inner demon, or can he decipher the true meaning of what he faces before it is too late? ------------------------------ A word from the author ------------------------------ "The Redemption Sect" is a purposeful departure from my previously published nonfictional memoirs, which are often described as "easy reads" that are lighthearted and funny. This book is none of that. I wrote this novel as an adult themed allegory, one that some will find disturbing. It is designed to challenge the reader and to make them think, all the while entertaining with a dark storyline. Although this book does not promote any particular ideology, it does contain a message, as all allegories do. After reading through the completed first draft, my editor told me that she could not stop thinking about the images that leapt from its pages, some of them unsettling her for days. To be clear: this book is not for everyone. If you believe you are in a weak emotional state, are easily offended, prudish, or squeamish, or you dislike having your personal paradigms tested, then please, DO NOT READ THIS BOOK. Erste Worte |
Die Informationen stammen von der englischen "Wissenswertes"-Seite. Ändern, um den Eintrag der eigenen Sprache anzupassen. The demon-beast was upon him. Enraged. Relentless.
A cold hard sweat beaded upon his forehead as he thrashed and moaned in the pitch-black recess of his barren quarters. A pale gaunt face flashed before him, the eyes wide open, bulging, and dry, with the mouth ajar and its swollen tongue partially protruding. He recoiled in horror at the sight of the rope garroted around the purpled throat of the once comely woman in a black cocktail dress, now just a limp doll hanging above a puddle of feces.
The twisted face gurgled through a mouthful of bile, “Leave me alone Blake... you just don't understand...” | |

Zitate |

And the Lord our God gave him over to us, and we defeated him and his sons and all his people. And we captured all his cities at that time and devoted to destruction every city, men, women, and children. We left no survivors. -
