This book was SO SO cute. I swear, I don't think Erin Watt can write a bad book. Those two ladies are dynamite. Popstar Oakley and regular girl Vaughan are thrown together in a fake relationship to improve Oakley's image with the media, but as you can imagine, things get complicated from there when feelings start to get real. Oakley comes with family drama and paparazzi that tail his every move. He's had to distance himself since he was a young teen, and as one can imagine, that would turn anyone into an emotional mess. Vaughan is dealing with the recent loss of her parents and having to raise her younger brothers and support the household with the help of her sister, which is why she agrees to the gig in the first place. It's a great scenario. I just loved everything about this... the flawed but still redeemable characters, the sweet relationship that formed over time, the drama that they had to work their way through. This was just completely a hit. Famous pop star needs to revamp his image, so his PR team hires him a “normal” fake girlfriend. Seems like a common enough trope but the writing here is amazing. Vaughn is a sweet girl who doesn’t even try to impress Oak and him being famous doesn’t intimidate her. Oak may be a celebrity but he is still a lonely teenager who wants to do more with his music and life. It starts like a job but the two of them develop an unlikely friendship. I really liked how they were able to understand each other despite their different backgrounds. Oak really grew on me as the book progressed and it was good to see that he respected her choices always. She tries to give him the chance to have normal experiences which was great to read. I am in love with these two and also the whole Bennett family and Ty. This is a wonderful love story and I recommend to anyone who enjoys cute romances. keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen

HTML:"A quintessential beach read." - Kirkus Reviews From #1 New York Times bestselling author Erin Watt Under ordinary circumstances, Oakley Ford and Vaughn Bennett would never even cross paths. There's nothing ordinary about Oakley. This bad-boy pop star's got Grammy awards, millions of fangirls and a reputation as a restless, too-charming troublemaker. But with his home life disintegrating, his music well suddenly running dry and the tabloids having a field day over his outrageous exploits, Oakley needs to show the world he's settling down??and who better to help him than Vaughn, a part-time waitress trying to help her family get by? The very definition of ordinary. Posing as his girlfriend, Vaughn will overhaul Oakley's image from troublemaker to serious artist. In return for enough money to put her brothers through college, she can endure outlandish Hollywood parties and carefully orchestrated Twitter exchanges. She'll fool the paparazzi and the groupies. She might even start fooling herself a little. Because when ordinary rules no longer apply, there's no telling what your heart will do...
