Very Wally (kid flash) focused but I enjoyed it.
Some of the art was a bit dodgy especially in the first issue. And while the art quality in the last issue was fine, it didn't suit The Flash at all. Felipe Watanabe was the best artist in the issue by far. ( )

The Flash, Volume 2: Speed of Darkness by Joshua Williamson (with the creative team of Felipe Watanabe, Oclair Albert, Chris Sotomayor, Steve Wands, , Jorge Corona, and Ivan Plascencia) is a graphic novel continuing the story of Barry Allen and the trouble in Central City. This graphic novel collects The Flash #9-13.

Barry Allen, The Flash, has found out that Wally West has been fighting crime without his supervision. Wally has a lot to learn and Barry decides he can no longer be Kid Flash until his training is done.

Wally, however, decides to prove that he is ready by investigating a strange creature made of shadows in downtown Central City.

This graphic novel was Kid Flash (Wally West) heavy, and more than one version to boot. I’m not a big fan of Kid Flash, or kids saving the day and such, but I still enjoyed The Flash, Volume 2: Speed of Darkness by Joshua Williamson (with the creative team of Felipe Watanabe, Oclair Albert, Chris Sotomayor, Steve Wands, , Jorge Corona, and Ivan Plascencia).

This whole graphic novel, from the values it presents to the look and feel are feel good and do away with the darker side of DC (contrary to the title). The plot itself is a bit weak and seems to be a vehicle to show off a new villain and the abilities of Kid Flash.

I really enjoy graphic novels which are much more focused on characters than some outlandish story. On the other hand, while I like this iteration of Kid Flash, he needs to tone down the winning a bit.

The art is OK, some of it seemed rushed and other simply not as good as it should. Regardless of the cheese aspect of this issue, I still found it enjoyable. ( )

So many Flashes (ooh, and two Wally Wests too... as well as maybe maybe another Flash soon?)

Like the previous Supergirl Rebirth that I read, I feel like these comics are trying to be the shows which they share a name with, instead of being their own title. But, I will say that in this TPB it annoyed me much less than in Supergirl.

Still, t here was some interesting stuff re: everyone's relationships in this one, and the adventure that they went on was pretty good too. Kid Flash and Flash went up against Shade, sorta.

Heh, and Kid Flash doing what he could for Iris' personal life was pretty cute too. That was good stuff.

I got this ARC through Netgalley on behalf of DC Entertainment. ( )
