It's a Historical fiction story about a black boy moving towns and going to a segregated school. The other main character is a girl who is white and they are caught up in this segregated world. I think it would be a good chance for the kids to picture themselves in their shoes and making ask themselves what they would do if they were in their situation.

This fictional historical book tells the story of children who go through the times of social unrest, protests, and civil rights for children.
This book is appropriate for elementary grades, not too much for Preschool or Kindergarten. Very useful to introduce a new topic and new vocabulary. (

This book is about two girls who find themselves in the middle of the civil rights movement. This is based off segregation and what life was like during the movement to change it. I wasn't crazy about it but maybe for a kids perspective it would be helpful in teaching about during the civil rights
