This isn't necessarily a review, but a disclaimer. This series is set in a world where children are harvested for meat. This world is very brutal and dark. If these types of genres aren't new to you, disregard my disclaimer. This has a lot of emotional weight and heavy themes not suited for anyone who is squeamish, has low tolerance for violence against children,etc. If you choose to continue please consider giving yourself breaks from the material. I was pulled into this story from the first page. You feel just as trapped as the children because you also know nothing about the outside world or what is happening to them. I can't wait to read volume 2. ( )

When I tell you I was not prepared at all for the story. I knew that it was probably not a happy-go-lucky story but still. I had no idea what was coming my way when I started to read it. I know that there is a show to go with this manga. I've wanted to start it for a while but now I think I have to. It took me a while to read or understand how to read it because it's my first proper mange, but other than that it was an amazing read. I can not wait to read more and start watching the show. ( )
