A few spots that were either slow or repetitive. Not many, and not enough to interfere with the enjoyment of the story. But, enough I noticed and felt the need to mention them. I don't remember seeing any typo's, etc.

This one is loaded with a few mysteries and they all get tangled together to make it more difficult for the Rogue Hunters to unravel.

Elspeth is slap dab in the middle of it all and trying to avoid her mother's surprise visit at the same time. Talk about 'When it rains, it pours!"

Fast paced suspense. Loads of action (including the steamy parts). Plenty of humor.

"Yeah, that life mate sex is a killer. I mean, none of us intended to ruin the holidays we told you guys about. You just intend to give your loved one a quick kiss in passing and kapow!" Sam said on a sigh."

Someone is trying to kill Elspeth. Could it be her mother? Really? Is her Mother that nuts?

As some of the answers to the mysteries involved in this story unfolds Elspeth has to really give this some serious thought. And you, as the reader, will wonder about it right along with her. Cause, I am telling you right now, her mother, Martine, has some really super serious control issues. Some of the things Martine says and does makes you want to slap her into a reality check!

As you can tell, I really enjoyed this one. The great thing about this series is how much it has grown and improved since the 1st book.
I admit I was only mildly interested in the series after I read the 1st book. The 2nd was better than the 1st and so on. It was book #3 that really got me really interested in the series, but I think it was book #6 that really got me hooked, line and sinker.

A series very worth following and 'sinking your teeth into'. Yummy! ( )

I don’t have much to say. I do think this is one of my top stories in this series. It was so great to see so many past characters. And since I read out of order it was good to see some future characters too.

That went by too fast! It's hard to believe that its the 27th Argeneau book that I have read. Lynsay Sands never disappoints with these Vampire Romances. Every situation is different, every plot has a little twist. The characters are lovable. My only complaint is how fast I can read them!

Elspeth Argeneau Pimms has finally been able to run away from home, it only took her 100 years. Now, after only 6 weeks, her mother has stopped in for a surprise visit, there is someone trying to kill her, and this sexy guy, Wyatt has shown up. Wyatt has been looking for Elspeth for four years, and stopped by to check up on his grandmother when he finally found her, and then things get weird and the person he loves is nearly killed in front of him.

I am so, so happy I read this book as I had been thinking of taking a break from the series due to lack of interest. This is the first real book that has gone back to the "core family" established at the start of the series since probably 2010. I fell in love with that series, with Marguerite and Lucian and Bastien. This book doesn't just have a cameo, they actually stick around, because Elspeth is family after all, right?

Man, my heart goes for Elspeth, and even her twin sisters (because they were kind of annoying in the earlier books, you know?). They have been nothing short of enslaved their entire lives, and no one has been able to help them because no one knew. Not even they knew the entire extent of their enslavement. I hope their mother gets some counseling and comes back in a later book and redeems herself, because as of now I hope the council does something about her.

Wyatt is a great guy, and something sorely needed in the series. He isn't somehow important to the story. He is kind of helpful to the hunters, but really he just wants to be with Elspeth. He is just a mortal who loves an immortal and has been looking for her for years after she unexpectedly left. It was cute, and a nice turn of play. Typically it is the immortal chasing after the immortal praying they'll stick around, but in this case it was the complete opposite.

The romance switches between super cute and utterly rage inducing. Elspeth and Wyatt are so cute together, really wholesome. It is her bitch of a mother that makes me want to go into a homicidal rage because those two should have been able to be together from the start! At least Elspeth's father starts to make up for it at the end, so cute.

Again, returning to the family was so nice. This romance was cute and different from the rest of the series. I really enjoyed reading this book. ( )
