Keine Keine aktuelle Diskussion zu diesem Buch. I hate to give a bad review, but unfortunately this book deserved one. This was a horrible book. Zane was a jerk, I could not see his appeal. The story was ridiculous, here is this grown man, who did not want to hire Kenley (heroine) because she looked like or reminded him of his high school crush. What?? How ridiculous, so of course he hires her story has to go on, and treats her bad, and then apologizes for his assholishness (yes I know not a word) but then he stays out of the office to avoid her because he does not want to have the same feeling of inadequacy he did as a teenager, did I say he was an idiot and this was ridiculous? Because it is..I was so upset with myself that I was reading this, and I was dedicating this time, that I could have given an actual good book, the reason I am writing this is to save you, the time and boredom..don't do it... Who said mixing work and pleasure was a bad idea? For Kenley Carmichael, getting fired for sleeping with the boss's husband is almost funny--at 28, she's still a virgin. Not that her now ex-boss would believe it--Kenley's got the face and figure to attract plenty of men, even if she's never found the right one. A job at New Haven Custom Boats is a chance to start fresh and learn a whole new skill set. Trouble is, she can't stop wishing her incredibly hot new boss would introduce her to some decidedly un-businesslike pleasure . . . Zane Jackson needs a new assistant, but when his pregnant sister hires her replacement, she chooses a girl who reminds him of the kind who broke his heart in high school. Zane might not be that shy boy anymore, but sweet, sexy Kenley makes him feel every bit as awkward as he did then--and even hungrier to kiss her. She's the perfect woman for the job--but he wants her to be so much more. Interoffice dating can only lead to trouble--unless it leads to true love . . . Keine Bibliotheksbeschreibungen gefunden. |

An On The Job Romance Series #1
Two romances in one book.
Kenley Carmichael, fired from her job for something she did not do, eventually ends up working for Zane Jackson. She is eager to learn everything she can about boats and is hopeful this will be a good job for her. Zane sees Kenley as the dead ringer of the girl he crushed on in HS and remains leery of her for most of the book. The second romance is between a man working for Zane and someone he meets while visiting a relative in a care center.
This book had a LOT going on it but nothing that was new or different from many other romances I have read. It was an okay read and entertaining but did not have the WOW factor that made me care, think, question and want to be friends with the characters as I got to know them. There were some threads I could not relate to but have a feeling some readers of this book will find meaningful/helpful. I felt at times that Kenley and Zane were acting more like they would in high school than they probably would be at nearly thirty and that said am thinking perhaps this is geared more toward NA readers even though the characters are a bit older than most in that genre.
I would like to thank NetGalley and Kensington Books-Lyrical Shine for the ARC – This is my honest review.
