Pretty good, but the morose Beck doesn't exactly make for a riveting lead character. He's apparently tortured, but can only express it through listless conversation and desultory police work. Takes forever for he and his wife to divorce. One episode features a daughter - one. Why bother? I've seen this kind of personal story worked into a cop drama better in the Stone series. Also some of the other cops got to be confusing as none really stood out well in terms of personality or voice. The investigations were solid and made sense although there are a lot of guns for a Scandinavian country IMO - maybe things were different in the 60s and 70s. It's also weird that the series is announced as the Martin Beck Killings which implies that he's the killer or has somehow caused all these deaths. A strange way of putting it. ( )
