His orders are clear: launch a raid against England, and bring home the spoils of war. But the prophecy is also clear: General Torben will take a foreign bride-one who is a seer and a healer just like his mother. The eldest princess of England is said to be just that: a beautiful, charming, and headstrong woman. But he's a Viking army general, and she's an English princess-and one who is already promised to the king of Tara. Two worlds collide in this historical epic that's centered upon an undeniable chemistry that smolders against the odds. Richly written and injected with moments of humor, this action-packed romantic tale will leave you breathless.… (mehr)

5 Fabulous Stars! I absolutely loved this book. I read it in less than 24 hours! It ends with a cliffhanger!!! I can't wait for book two!

My first Loftis book... and it was so great!

A British princess falls in love with a dashing Viking who disguises himself as her personal guard to save her from an unwanted marriage that will doom not only her kingdom but also his clan. Sounds good, right? IT IS!

The Viking's Chosen is an entertaining read with a colorful cast of characters. The banter between Torben and Alette had me laughing out loud, with witty dialogues and endearing romance scenes.!! I love Quinn's writing style; it is fast-paced and has no dull moments. I was hooked from beginning to end. Allete is fantastic! She is intelligent, humorous, courageous, loyal, and kind. Torben is a Viking; what's not to love? But, seriously, he is the sweetest, gentlest giant; I love him. Dayna, Allete's younger sister, is great too! She is fierce and sassy. Dayna and Brant seriously had me rolling with laughter!

It's such a fun read! ( )

This was a mixed bag for me.
It started off good.
I wished the author had been less specific about the Vikings and England and some of the details or made it more fantasy so she could have strayed from history.
I have read a lot of books based in historical times and accuracy though not essential must be close and not way off.
For example.
The time period of the book is vague but....
16th century potatoes were introduced by Sir Frances Drake not earlier.
Maurading Vikings denotes around the 900s. 798 AD to 1066 was their peak.
The issue of castles, palaces, from 1066 William the conqueror was the great castle builder and palaces came after that.
The heroine at one point says she wished she lived in a different dimension, this language seemed totally out of place, if the heroine had used different less futuristic language her point could have been conveyed without using words that just would not have been in their vocabulary.
I did like that the Hero isn t the type to be sleeping around even if his mates do.
The Vikings are portrayed as the ones with respect for women and ethics compared to the awful enemy king from a respected nation.
The heroine was strong and there was lots of banter. Funny bits too.
It ends on a cliffhanger.
The story is not only the main couple but involves her sister and his friend too.
I did get a bit bored, I found it a bit slow. ( )

My word. Fun idea, subpar execution. Character and relationship development were sorely lacking. Did anyone edit this book? Extra words & missing words on nearly every page. I know nothing about this author, but it seems as if she wrote this as a school writing project the night before it was due. The grammatical errors definitely detracted from the story. There were numerous anachronistic errors. I'm fairly certain Vikings didn't refer to one another as comrade and I don't think "shut-up" was part of royal English vernacular yet. I find myself not caring about what happens next or even remotely invested in this series. ( )
