An ancient wisdom meets the modern world Joyride reveals the illusory nature of pressure, worry and stress of all kinds. The revelation that these are not brought upon us by circumstances "outside of us" but created from the inside out is the start of a transformational journey of self- discovery that will allow you to "show up better," be more productive, more resilient and stress free. There are Three Principles creating our experience. An understanding of the way they work offers you a spiritual "rudder," helping you to leave behind self-generated limiting beliefs, achieve more peace of mind and ultimate freedom. The journey takes the form of an imaginary road trip from Miami down to Key West. At each stage of the journey there are anecdotes and stories acting as metaphors for the way in which we enslave ourselves with our own thinking, and pointing to a new way of being that is free from care, focused and happy.… (mehr)

If you know and like Erickson style therapy, you will probably like the book. David Key was trained in NLP, which Milton Erickson influenced.

I took one of his (David, not Milton) internet classes and I loved the way that he taught so I bought his book. I could hear his voice the entire way as the book takes place as a long conversation as you drive from Miami to the Keys. I do think it's funny that I lived in Miami and never went until David "took me" on a joyride. The metaphor had an additional layer of meaning for me so I appreciated that!

I will say I think the book is partially mistitled though. Yes it was a joyride, but not so sure there were three principles, I probably took away about three DOZEN potential principles from this book. Maybe that was the intention. Or maybe that is because I am overly susceptible to anything that even looks like it was influenced by Milton Erickson so I am seeing possibilities in things David didn't intend! ( )
