This is a great book for primary students and intermediate. I feel that you can use this for teaching about space! i love this book and the illustrations capture the emotions Pluto would be feeling during this time.

This book would be great for teaching primary readers about outer space. This story is about the planet Pluto and his adventure of trying to figure out where he belongs in outer space after being demoted from being a planet. I think that this book would be super helpful for giving students an overview of some of the elements of space (all of the planets in our solar system, asteroids, comets, etc.) in a way that is simple but still has strong themes of friendship and self-acceptance. These themes combined with the informational text at the back of the book create a user-friendly story that can be easily expanded on in a classroom setting. ( )

Having been kicked out of the planet club, Pluto wanders around the solar system trying to figure out where he now fits in. Cute but not enough to appease us in the #plutoisaplanet crowd. Pluto needs to be grandfathered back into planet status! ( )

This book is a good intro to the idea of the dwarf planet Pluto. This could be used at the younger grades as an intro to the dwarf plants. This could be used with older students to begin to discuss why a planet is or isn't a dwarf planet, and what characteristics a dwarf planets has.

This adorable mix of story and science presents all kinds of facts about space in the guise of a tale of a lost former planet. Great way to learn about space. Even greater way to tackle something as complex as what about pluto? Treating pluto as a character makes it very relatable and engaging, while still presenting tons of information.
