I’m sitting here trying to decide how to describe my emotions after reading the final word of this book. Unexpected definitely comes to mind. Startling, even. I cannot begin to imagine how the rest of The Strega Series unfolds.

The first half of this book was filled with happiness and revelations. Many back-stories were revealed. We learned more about Katarina, Claire, and Patrick. We met Rowan, Matteo, and Akshay. Love was reigning supreme. We all know this false sense of peace wasn’t going to last long, but I enjoyed it anyway.

The second half brought feelings of anger, anxiety, and sadness. Evil gains more strength. Events occur that shouldn’t. Revenge is in the hearts and minds on all sides of this war. However, I’m left wondering what Katarina’s dream meant???

I’m loving this series. As in real life, different members of a team excel in varied areas. The interactions between each of the characters is a delight to experience. There is an obvious overall “pecking order” but each individual is confident in leading when his or her expertise is required.
