2 stars for Amazing Spider-Man & 1 stars for Guardians Of The Galaxy. Thank goodness this was free because I would have been highly disappointed with my purchase.

I have never been a huge fan of Spider-Man. I have always found his holier than thou attitude slightly annoying. This version of Peter Parker looks like a college graduate who is just trying to find his place in the world. Seems interesting enough but his one liners while in battle annoys me. The artwork was vibrant which I enjoyed and the story seemed interesting but not enough for me to seek this series out fully.

I didn't like anything from Guardians Of The Galaxy. I didn't like the artwork and the way the panels were placed on the page. It was a bit much for my liking. The story didn't make any sense to me and I don't care to read anything in that series. ( )

The Spider-Man preview is everything you want in a preview with the character -- easy to follow set-up, consistently funny, and ends on a note that makes it intriguing to continue reading one day. The catch-up for Guardians of the Galaxy, howeever, is the kind of lackluster attempt of adding some personality to a giant continuity information dump that's only at all worthwhile if you want to jump into the middle of some giant on-going event.
