A Handbook for Teachers, Counselors, and Parents Who Work with Children Affected by FAS & FAE. Selected Reading Questionnaire. 4/16/22. Reaching Out to Children With Fas/Fae: A Handbook for Teachers, Counselors, and Parents Who Live and Work With Children Affected by Fetal Alcohol Syndome by Diane Davis Why I picked this book up: I read this book back in Grad School and just had an intake interview with a little boy that has FAS. I searched for it in our library, I could not find it so I bought another one to let this little male’s adoptive mother read I. Thoughts: This is a good little book that gives an idea of what FAS/FAE is, who does diagnosis, what the signs and sx. look like, education IEP samples, some counseling ideas, more info like parenting children with fetal alc., teaching children with them, techniques working with children, adolescents and adults with this, bx mod and articles and other resources. I like this little book and I hope his mother finds it useful. Why I finished this read: it was so small, and easy and informative resource to start with.
