Heart Beats is poetry for life. Heart Beats is poetry about love, life, children, and God. The life of David Meier, the Heart Beats of David Meier, is felt throughout this book of poetry. The simple "every other line rhymes" poetry style makes for easy reading. Each poem is nonabstract, which allows the meaning of each to easily flow from the pages of the book to the heart and mind of the reader. It is the goal of this book to stimulate your mind to think and your heart to feel some of what David thinks and feels and, if at all possible, bring you to live more and to love more. A loftier goal is to have you ponder God, his place in your life, and your place in his purpose. Keine Bibliotheksbeschreibungen gefunden. |

The poetry in this book is rhyming poetry, the form I prefer and consider to be proper poetry. The rhythm within the poems was strong and allowed the story to flow very fluidly. Whilst it was possible to understand what the poems were about without needing to read the introduction to the poem that Meier provides for each of his poems, these explanations only added more value to the poems that Meier had written. Seeing and feeling what Meier was going through came through extremely strongly in each lovingly written poem. The way this book is organised it is possible to just read whatever poem speaks to you in a given moment rather than having to read it from start to finish. In this way I can see that this book can have lots of value throughout a readers’ life journey.
I took a while to decide to share this review with people because I felt so privileged, honoured and encouraged by what I was reading that I wanted to both keep this precious gift to myself but I also wanted to share it with others because it I felt it was too special to be greedy by keeping it to myself. I can’t recommend it highly enough.
