I'm not able to be as enthusiastic as some of the Amazon reviewers, although I agree it's quite a good yarn. It's erotic, certainly, and it does present some quite novel M/F (and also some F/F) spanking situations, but I didn't find that they are described with enough excitement. The elements it contains are all there, though: the woman described, who is turned on by being spanked, certainly lacks discipline in her studies, and this is provided very credibly by a strong father figure. Further, both he and her other friends ensure that she is well provided with situations in which he and others are well justified in providing stiff correction to the appropriate part of her anatomy. But bits of the story seem a bit far-fetched, such as when she is chastised in front of an audience at a stately home. Basically, I found that some of the situations described, though definitely novel and full of potential, are not really given the erotic charge I felt they merit for the realisation of that potential. Perhaps it's just that the spankings are treated as 'ends in themselves', rather than as erotic preludes. ( )

I read a lot of erotica, and this gets 3 stars because at the very least, it's well written, the sentences make sense and the main character seems plausible. So it's works on a literary level. It didn't work for me on a sensual level, but that may be because I realize that spanking doesn't quite do it for me. However if you want to explore a book about spanking this is definitely a safe space to start, and you may find it more engaging than I did.

Also the author is the woman pictured on the cover, which lends authenticity ot her writing... ( )
