Wanting to be married and have a family of her own, Gracie proposes marriage to Matthew, a recent widower with 5 children. At his startled expression, she quickly withdraws her proposal and flees. But Matthew realizes that he needs help with his kids, and Gracie seems like the perfect solution. He thinks it will be marriage of convenience, but Gracie enters the union with other ideas. It’s quite an intriguing story. Matthew has a theory behind the death of his first wife that he has never revealed to anyone. And when he does finally tell Gracie, she is dumbstruck. Their problems are finally resolved and they come to an better understanding of their circumstances. Adding a bit of humor to the story are the boys and the fixes they get into and the unusual ways they find to get hurt. This tale is well written, with endearing characters, Christian beliefs, and an interesting plot.I ( )

My Rating: 4.5

Gracie Glick is everybody's everything. She goes over and above to make everyone happy. She realizes that she wants her own happiness. Her own life. Her own family. However, in her Amish community, there just are not a lot of men available, at least none that could possibly offer what Gracie needs.

Grace does something very impulsive. She proposes to Matthew Byler. He is a recent widower with five young children. Not only can Gracie get the family she's dreamed of, she can have a child of her very own.

While Matthew cannot believe he will have help with his children - a new mother for them - he has no intention of ever having another child. All he wants is for his children and farm to be cared for, even though he is unaware that he will soon be breaking Gracie's heart.

This is the third book in Amy Lillard's series, and it is just as touching, just as compelling as the first two. This story is more about children and family than the other two books were. It was very sweet to see how Gracie connected with the children, and also how the children bonded with her and with the rest of her family.

Matthew's story and reasons were indeed heartbreaking and I shed more than a few tears. This story, in fact, touched on a very serious issue. Even so, it became a story of hope, and of course, faith.

For an incredible experience, be sure to grab the first two books in this series, A Home for Hannah and A Love for Leah. Each story is a delight. This is a strong family series and readers of this genre will be more than happy to have indulged.

Many thanks to Zebra and to Netgalley for this ARC to review. This is my honest opinion. ( )

Gracie and Mathew come together in a most unusual way. Gracie feels old and wants a family of her own. Mathew needs help with his five children. This story brings them together in a wonderful way and then they need to work out all the troubles that come along. I love how they work through their problems. I really like both of these characters. I did not want to put this book down. I also loved the four boys and one girl that Mathew brings to the table. I received a copy of this book from the author for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will. ( )

This is the third book in this series, and I am happy to be back with the Glick family, and continuing on with their lives. Yes, this book can be read alone, and the author gives us lots of information to keep us up to date, but you will quickly want to pick up the past two books!
This is Gracie’s story, a woman who always ready to give the extra hand to help those in need, and she sure goes the extra mile in this story.
Matthew Byler is now a struggling widower with five children, and boy is he having a hard time, he has a newborn daughter and four rambunctious boys, and never a dull moment. With his close family so far away, he is struggling to keep it together with the farm and needy children, even with some help from the community.
Enter our Gracie, with her heart so big, but wow, I can’t even imagine doing what she wants to do.
Will this ever work out? Can someone slip into another shoes so quickly, and can Andrew move on and live his faith?
We find answers here, and boy will some of the happenings are really going to surprise you!
Is Tillie coming home? Will we get another book? Sure, hope so, I love being with the Pontotoc Amish!

I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher Kennsington, and was not required to give a positive review. ( )

I really enjoyed the concept of this story. Most marriages are based on love, but sometimes a marriage is a matter of helping a person out who seems overwhelmed, and needs help with children. Matthew is way over his head with five young children , one which is a baby to raise on his own. I laughed sometimes at the things the children did that made Matthew want to raise his hands up in surrender.

Gracie is a wonderful character who has always wanted a family and to be married. Looks like the perfect arrangement is going to happen to benefit both Matthew and Gracie. A marriage between them seems like a great solution, but is it? They are both in for surprises in this story that brings two people together in a emotional journey to forgiveness, hope and love.

There are many people who are there to give advice to the couple and they all have good intentions but after awhile I think they both just wanted to get married and try to get back to a normal life. The children definitely need a mother to nurture them and Gracie has a heart filled with love for them. The question is, do either her or Matthew feel anything for each other?

The story is sprinkled with wonderful scriptures and wisdom that feels the heart with hope. Matthew and Gracie each will need to discover what God’s plan is for their lives as they blend marriage and family into a place of love and forgiveness. I loved how the author wrote the story with glimpses inside the hearts of two people each wanting to find love. Gracie is a very compassionate woman who finds herself praying for a marriage that is filled with love, while Matthew must come to terms with a tragedy that he blames himself for.

I was captivated by the children in this story and how much they needed guidance and a feeling of knowing they were wanted. They keep Gracie on her toes and at times are stubborn. Baby Grace is a special child that brings two people a renewed hope and reminds us all that God is in every marriage . We must remember not to worry over little things but be thankful for each day that brings us joy and love. I loved this story because it reminds us that family is important and when you don’t give up when things are hard, God is there to open your eyes to unconditional love.

I received a copy of this book from the author. The review is my own opinion. ( )
