Twenty-one years ago, a four-year old child was kidnapped from his front yard. He was never found. Until now. All Nat Walker wants is to make his late father's dream of running a father/son woodworking shop come true. And he had the perfect building in mind-until the new guy in town came in and bought the place right out from under him. The fact that the new guy is adorable means nothing. For all Nat cares, he can take his new dance studio and waltz back to New York City. Professional dancer Quinn Carroll couldn't be happier that he made the move to the small town of Lakeshore, Oregon. Sure, it's not New York, but now he'll be living closer to his adoptive brother. And since his studio will be the only one in the area, he should get enough business to keep him busy. Besides, there's something about this place that seems familiar... He doesn't expect to fall hard for the local, grumpy woodworker who won't even smile at him. Or find out that his entire life is a lie.… (mehr)

I liked the romantic tangle Nat and Quinn find themselves in. Quinn is a quirky dance teacher, Nat is only grumpy because Quinn bought the place he wanted for his new woodworking shop.
Unfortunately the push and pull didn't last long. Their endeavour got overshadowed by Quinn's long lost family and the blooming relationship got pushed into the background. To me this book was about family, and as such, it was a good one, but that's not what I wanted to read about. Eventually Nat too got to solve his familial problems with the help of Quinn by his side.

The mystery of Quinn's kidnapping mostly got solved, though there are some questions left, purposefully. The whole plot will probably go on in the coming books with the secondary characters, though hopefully it wont be that prominent (except maybe the FBI guy's book, if he gets to tell his story). Quinn's brothers (both by blood and by adoption) are all promising characters. I'm most curious about the childlike, sweet, adorable and very animated Evan with his mysterious "friend".

If you're looking for a good mystery... not it.
If you're looking for a sweet romance with hot steamy moments... not it.
If you're looking for a book that talks about family connections, about love and acceptance, about grief and guilt and moving on... this is for you.

Wow. This book started out where I was enjoying it, but it kept getting better and better. The emotions ran high all throughout the book, and it was all justified and well written. Both Nat and Quinn had things that happened that they felt guilty about, and both struggled with how to deal with that guilt. Luckily, they found each other and were able to be rocks for the other while they worked through it. I loved the story, and I loved the emotion. Fabulous writing, and I can't wait to see what comes next in this series.

Really interesting premise. You have the romance set against the suspense/mystery. Interesting relationships going on and I'm looking forward to seeing what happens in the next books.

Nat has lived in Lakeshore all his life, and has big plans for turning a storefront on Main Street into his store for his woodworking business. The problem is that someone bought it out for under him. Not only did someone buy it out from underneath him, they turned it into a dance studio. Quinn has moved to Lakeshore to spend time with his big brother Shay. He decided that he wanted to have a dance studio, and the building downtown was perfect.

On the opening day of his studio, a gorgeous man stands outside Quinn's studio and scowls. Quinn can't help but be drawn to Nat. They both want each other, but there is so much in between them.

I love the relationship between Quinn and his brother Shay. They are super close and they truly love each other so much. Nat and his brother John have a good relationship too. There are a lot of really good familial relationships in this. The drama in this book is all about how the past is impacting the future, and that's really interesting to watch. ( )
