Systematic theology for the lay person in the form of a catechism is the format of this book. It is a search for divine truth and theological integrity. More importantly, it is an explanation of the Christian faith. Theological integrity may be summarized by a belief system that works out consistently based on the full counsel of God's Word. This book is a summary of Christian doctrine based on the doctrine of the Westminster Confession of Faith and Larger Catechism. Keine Bibliotheksbeschreibungen gefunden. |

What the author, Martin Murphy, has done in this book, has been to give his readers, regardless of their individual stature with Christian faith, a relevant theological guide to the Bible to over 30 topics which all people are most likely to have questions about on a daily basis.
Within each of these scriptural topics, which run the gamut starting from “Holy Scriptures” and ending with “The Last Judgment” the author raises several questions, which are followed by answers, and these answers are then followed by the author’s commentaries. The book’s format according to the author’s description: It is a systematic theology for laymen based on the full counsel of God. The topical format is derived from the Westminster Standards which covers the major doctrines of Christianity and contains, as I’ve said, the author’s own commentary.
The entire book has been written using an easy to understand language. And while this book is geared towards those of the Reformed and Presbyterian church, I believe this book can still fulfill the spiritual needs of individuals who belong to every one of the Christian faiths, and therefore those who read it shouldn’t be disappointed in the knowledge it’s trying to communicate. It’s for this reason, this reviewer of Christian books has given Mr. Murphy 5 STARS for his endeavor here. ( )
