This genre, work place/office romance is not my genre at all, I don't usually go for any books that have this scenario.
I read this book because I have read the author's work before.
The author's books are well written so you know you will get a good story.

There is always a danger with writing a Hero who is a 'alphahole' and messes up at the beginning, A LOT, that he can become irredeemable and some actions can't be undone.
I gotta be honest when I first met Aiden I really wasn't sure he'd win me over but he is a really good guy underneath all that 'a**'.

It is written in dual POV which I love as esp when the Hero is hard to like at first you sometimes need to get in his head.

I don't think dual POV is as easy to write as we can assume it to be.

For example, some books I've read have the dual POV as a rehash of the same events just from a different perspective which makes the book repetitive and boring, this didn't happen here, when it switched it either picked up from events before or was very brief in rehashing.

The only issue I had with the dual POV is each chapter switched. Sometimes I like to be in the one person's head for a few chapters to really have a chance to see their thought process if it switched each chapter and if the chapters are not very long I can find it hard to reconnect with the other character then reconnect back.

But having said that I loved the book.

This is an office romance but there is a lot going on, family issues and mistrust, which is why it's so helpful to have dual POV.
Its not a quick read, it took me a couple of chapters to get into it but then I was hooked.
It is also very funny in parts, the scene with Carly hoovering cleaning up Aiden's mess is hilarious, totally what an irate woman would do.
The Lazer zone team building scene also had me laughing out loud.

There are some excellent secondary characters who I am hoping will get their own books.

I loved Carly, she, as the blurb said has tried to reinvent herself to go along with the new job and city. She struggles with it. She doesn't want to be a doormat anymore but it's not easy.
The connection between her and Aiden is there even though he's awful to her at the start but she doesn't give in and she fights back, good strong heroine.
Also although she feels the sexual chemistry and struggles with it she doesn't give in easily.

For the safety gang who are worried about cheating, other woman/man drama, there is no cheating. There is ex drama, even a scene at the beginning when we first meet Aiden is having a 'chat' with another woman but there are no intimate scenes with anyone other than the Hero and heroine.

OMG, this book I bloody loved it like so much.

Its one of those stories that instantly reaches in a grab you by the throat and you're unable to shake free until that final curtain.
This was such addictive reading; a slow-burn, room-mates and enemy to lovers rollercoaster that took me through such a kaleidoscope of deep emotions; which I felt from the top of my head down to the very tip of my toes.
I ran the gauntlet from start to finish; leaving the party with a massive book hangover and still wanting more from these fascinating new characters that have sprung forth from this author's vast imagination and Alphahole does a fantastic job leaving the stage splendidly set-up for further future developments.
As an added incentive I am already emotionally attached to a great deal of the individuals portrayed between these pages and will definitely no question be reading anything else set in this particular world; I mean how could I not.
Embarking aboard the aphahole train is an experience in a league all of its own; one you will most certainly enjoy.
It's full of unexpected humour, plenty of action and is also super smoking to boot.
Aiden himself, our resident Alpahole/Hot sauce is such a character.
Even when he is at his worst you can't help but be drawn to his cheeky-boy arrogant persona.
He's one unapologetic Alphahole and I loved watching his metamorphosis from arrogant douche to; well a bit less of a douche as he slowly drinks the cool-aid that is Carly.

I loved that even though Aiden does grow as an individual throughout this story he still manages to stay true to his inborn nature just a much more likeable version of himself that was there all along but was just buried deep; like really needs a shovel deep.
Carly/Peaches, I really adored this girl with her ingenious set of new rules for the new an improved Carly 2.0 she had me from the first page.
Who hasn't been screwed over and taken the mick out of; Carly was being proactive and taking control; this girl was so my hero especially when she stood up to Aiden's complete bullcrap, calling him out and refusing to be his whipping boy.

This also had a fantastic supporting cast that I really want to learn more about especially Carly's new friend Ally whos vibe I was really digging.
In fact, the whole story here was jam-packed with something for everyone.
Not one for slow burns; well I would make an exception here the best bit for me about Alphahole was how the tension was expertly ratcheted up notch by delicious notch; it really was one of the best slow-burn romances I have read and when we eventually arrived at the expected destination well boy it was so worth the anticipated wait.
So Alphahole gets a massive thumbs up from myself, this one turned out to be a real winner that I totally recommend 100%.

Give it a go I really don't think you will be disappointed.
Thank you to the author for providing me with an ARC of "Alphahole" of which I have reviewed voluntary.
All opinions are entirely my own.

Certain things trigger moments of smiling. They vary depending on the person. Sometimes it is a smell or a good book in a favorite chair on a rainy day, or it is seeing a book on your kindle from one of your all-time favorite authors. That was me today when I discovered this wonderful book that made me smile more times than I can count.

I will admit that I was wondering if this was going to be another 5 star read from this author. Not because I did not think she had it in her because good lord, this woman can write. Rather it was because, she writes Hot Vampire, MC or Mafia romance all of which with dark (sometimes very DARK) undertones. I posited whether she could possibly do an enemy/coworker romance. I should not have ever been concerned because she knocked this out of the park. She is the queen of writing about Alphaholes in a way that makes you hate them and love them at the same time. If You have ever read Tristan, Tommy, or Alessandro then you know. MMMM Alessandro. Sorry, shiny squirrel moment. I didn't mean to digress. Anyway, my point was she did it again with this book. While it is in no way as dark as the majority of her other works, there is still a similarity in creating Aiden, a manchild, that I wanted to punch several times while at the same time I wanted to see how many times it would take to get to the tootsie roll. FYI, It would not matter that he isn't a tootsie pop. I would do it in the name of science...

Aiden. Sweet Holy Titfire. The mouth on this guy. Ovaries gone. Carly. She cracked me up. Her list and Carly 2.0 attitude were perfect. The banter and push and play between those two were palpable. The anticipation almost killed me at times. In fact, as much as I liked Carly, I was ready to push her out of the way to finally see for myself Aiden Jr. #TheStruggleWasReal #Greysweatpantsdrivemecrazy When the steam finally happened my kindle was smoking and not just because it was 111 degrees in Idaho today.

The timeframe of this book happens relatively quickly but it never felt like an instant love story. There was so much going on that it seemed like it happened over a very lengthy time. I liked that a lot as instant love makes me a little stabby because it generally is cheesy. This is a long book. I am not sure this author knows how to write short ones. The setting was intriguing and I really appreciated the effort that went into to describing the job setting. The secondary characters were great too. I really loved Ally and Jude and Meryl and Austin. I want them to have their own stories too. Yet, in the same breath, I don't because this author is booked until 2020 or some crazy date and I need more from Tristan or any of those hot as hell Valentine men first and a hot alien. I promise, I am not demanding, I just have needs!

That being said, Fantastic book. I should never have doubted this author. She always knocks my socks off and makes me ramble on and fangirl. ( )

I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review. This book was great. It had me laughing out loud multiple times. The build up and sexual tension in this book was intense and once they finally give in....it is like fireworks!! Aiden was a true alpha in every sense of the word and he definitely was an alpha-hole at certain points. Carly was a strong, amazing leading lady...she stood strong and didn't give into him until she saw another side of Aiden. When Aiden finally showed he real self....swoon, he was great. I love office romance books and this book didn't disappoint. I hope we see another book for Austin and Meryl and Ally!! The supporting characters in this book were awesome. The drama in this book was just enough and the storyline is extremely engaging. Another awesome book by this author!! ( )
