What great fun I had reading this book. It was written in 1979, so really was a trip down memory lane for me: abortion is the hot political issue of the day, a Liberal party leadership convention, back room politics.

Judy La Marsh is a former politician and Minister of the Crown. Her first hand knowledge of life as a woman in the male dominated world of politics served well in writing this compelling story.

I especially like what she said about the book: when she wrote her actual memoirs, everyone said it couldn't be true; when she wrote this novel, everyone thought it was fact. ( )
