The book descrives Peyto's deliberation about starting a guide business, the letterhead he would use, the type of clients he would try to cater to, and the appearance he would project to keep and maintain those clients.
The book shows that, unlike most other guides, Peyto was very aware of his image and dressed the part with items shipped in on the railroad. The author used a journal Peyto kept for most of the biography and that makes most of the reading first person and very interesting. (
