I liked this one the least of all the Order stories I’ve read so far. It was still very enjoyable - Bacon is an accomplished storyteller - but I couldn’t connect to either Yüu or Ĥaiatto. I tend to be extremely character-focused as a reader - I’d even go as far as to say character-obsessed. That’s why I naturally gravitate towards longer books, or finished series, where there's more room for development. My main issue with this one is that it ended before I had a chance to really ‘get to know’ the characters. It seemed more like an introduction.

Plot-wise, I have no complaints whatsoever. There's a nice spot of action, and we get to see another corner of the Order universe, which I liked a lot. This gradual-reveal thing has its advantages! There are no elves in here - which is a pity - instead we get pirates, vampire(s) and LOCHAN’S DAD. Yep, no complaints here. ( )

So much story in a few chapters.
This is another excellent addition to this universe.
The writing is effortless, the storytelling superb, the world-building barely noticeable and yet so vivid.
I can't wait for the next instalment.

Kasia Bacon satisfies my fantasy cravings with her short stories. The balance between the fantastic and romantic elements is just right. I absolutely loved the feels. *.*

It's recommended to read that short story first with the bonus content at the end.
