Islamic law originated in pre-Islamic customary norms, improved or reworked - but not abolished in general - by Revelation, which stands as a foundational element. Subsequently, the new needs, resulting from the greater complexity of social and economic relations, as well as the incorporation of other legal traditions, would open an exciting process of reflection on the principles and contents of the law (sharia), immutable insofar as it is inspired Oh my God. Classic Islamic law is the consequence of this process: a single legal system, by accepting the same sources of law, and multiple, by the different consequences extracted by the four Sunni legal schools -more the Shiite and Kharijite branches- of the common principles . History of Islamic law is an already classical approach to one of the least known and most transcendental disciplines of Islamic social culture; it analyzes the genesis and creation of sharia, the principles and schools of the classical stage, as well as the limitations of its implementation, and ends with the adaptations to the western legal systems present in the Muslim world from nineteenth century, and the areas where it remains in force. All this, plus the clarity of its approaches, make this book an essential reading for any introduction to Islamic studies.
