Also reminiscent of Clan of the Cave Bear. A solid adventure with a good plot, great pacing, and characters you can care about. I enjoyed Middle Falls series so much, but I think that this one was tainted for me when I'd read that the author wanted this to be a Pelucidar homage. I'd read all of the Burroughs books years ago and just not looking forward to a re-hash of that type of story again.
