The world Clare (and Sue Brown) have created around the alcohol-fuelled ice cream parlour is one of my favourite places to revisit. As well as the main threesome, we get to check in with several of the other couples, especially Lee and Patrick. And it's this sense of community that I really enjoy about these stories. But what of the current 'throuple'? They're certainly a diverse bunch, reflecting the area of London where they live and work, and on the face of it they couldn't appear more different, but they all have passion in their souls and an artistic flair which explains why they are drawn together. They have their share of issues, as individuals and as a threesome, but these problems are dealt with without great drama or histrionics. Problems aren't solved immediately or permanently but they are addressed. There's a realism to this story that isn't always found in romance. As you'd expect from a Clare London story, the writing is excellent and the sex scenes are plentiful and hawt, but they aren't the be all and end all of the story, The characters are well drawn, London is described perfectly, and there is a real scene of place in description, action, and dialogue. If you've not read any of the series, I see no reason why you can't dive in with this one as a standalone, but once you've tried one With a Kick book you'll want to read the rest. Like alcoholic ice cream, they're moreish and addictive. Zeige 2 von 2 keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
