So this one wasn't my favorite when it comes to the series but it was good nonetheless. I thought that the ending was a little rushed but hey that's not that big of a deal. I just wish there was a little more, it felt like it was lacking something. Maybe it's because technically these were all new characters that we didn't spend a lot of time with. But I'm still excited to finish this series. Though I will miss it. ( ) ⭐️⭐️⭐️ /5 🌶🌶🌶🌶 /4 Disney characters reimagined: Ursula & Ariel & Alaric !! Following may contain spoilers !! Synopsis & Notes: We start with another Dark Olympus runaway of sorts, this time Zuri (Ariel) escapes the gilded cage that is her father Triton’s house in order to travel to Carver City to rescue her love, Alaric, from his contract with Hades and the Underworld. Ursa, a fierce territory leader, seems like she’s just interested in helping Zuri as she gets revenge on Triton… but the plot quickly thickens as it is revealed Alaric isn’t the damsel in distress he was portraying. Not to mention he also has own ties to Ursa. While I enjoyed the plot twist of this little mermaid retelling, and the spicy scenes were of course up to the Katee Robert standard, the individual characters & the group dynamic weren’t my fav of the series compared to some of the others. TW wise, aside from the general bdsm ones, this book starts off with a virginity auction at the Underworld. It all works out in the end character wise, but the premise of this idea definitely had me docking the book a few stars and that might turn a few folks off. Zuri & Ursa’s backstories are tied to Dark Olympus, and Alaric’s is tied to Sabine Valley. imo it's the weakest polyam rom from KR I loved HxMxH and AxBxG, but this throuple didn't work for me. first of all this installment has no plot at all. Central conflict is super weak and don't hold. I liked Zuri and Ursa as characters, but Alaric pissed me off. His explanation why he did what he did made absolutely no sense imo. And I didn't buy his and Zuri's relationship before this book. I think I just needed more depth from everyone. Sex scenes were super hot as per usual, but that insta-love aspect I didn't like. Also I wish we'd explore Zuri's dom side because I feel like it has been going in that direction. What I did like is the relationship between Ursa and Malone, heroine of the next book. Their friendship was so normal despite them being Mafia bosses This one was definitely a bit dull for me. It does seem like each book focuses more and more on just the relationship and sex and less on any other outside plot. I would prefer to have a bit more additional plot difficulty beyond the interpersonal stuff. It's gotten to the point where all these books are pretty similar and while I'm still enjoying them, I would like a bit more variation. This book is about Alaric, Ursa, and Zuri. I thought their characters were pretty good but I this didn't really care about the conflict between them. It's really all about Zuri feeling unsure and Ursa being unable to share her emotions. This is fine but I just never really understood how they got past these hangups beyond the power of love I guess. If this is going to be really the only conflict I want to see more from it. I will be reading the last book very soon and then I will probably read the short story collection after that. I'm interested in finally seeing what happens to Aurora so hopefully I'll enjoy that last book more than this one. I received an ARC of this book to read through a Review Crew. All opinions are my own. The Sea Witch by Katee Robert is the fifth book in her Wicked Villains series. It could be read as a stand-alone, but I think you will enjoy it more if you have read the previous books in the series as it will make it easier to understand the world in which the series takes place. Both Ursa the Sea Witch and Alaric fled for their lives from Olympus because of Triton. In Carver City, Ursa has established herself as leader of one of the territories, and Alaric is working for Hades to pay off a massive debt. Working together, Ursa and Alaric came to the conclusion that the best way to get revenge on Triton was to take something he loves and that would be his youngest daughter Zurielle. Zuri is convinced to auction off her virginity to pay Alaric’s debt to Hades, and she realizes she’s been tricked when Ursa purchases her at auction. They form an FFM menage with Ursa as dominant, and it's very, very hot, but what happens when lust turns to love, and they have to decide if revenge is worth risking the chance at love. This book makes a great escape read. Steam Level: Super-Steamy. Once upon a time, I met a man and he stole my heart. In my desperation to reunite with him, I have nowhere to turn but the Sea Witch. Ursa is as beautiful as she is dangerous, and the one person my father warned me never to trust. But she's all crimson lips and sweet lies that hint at deeper truths beneath the surface, and I'm convinced despite my fear. It's a simple enough plan, if not for the faint of heart. An auction to sell the one thing I possess of any value-myself. The money will free Alaric and then we can finally be together. Except nothing is simple at all. Ursa is playing at games I can only begin to comprehend. And Alaric? The man I thought I loved might be just as much a villain as the woman I can't help but be drawn to. When playing in the darkest depths of love and lust, it will be everything I can do not to drown. Keine Bibliotheksbeschreibungen gefunden. |
