Series Info/Source: This is the 3rd, and final, book in the Fire Queen’s Apprentice series. I borrowed this book for my Kindle through Kindle Unlimited.

Story (4/5): This did an awesome job of wrapping up the series. I didn't enjoy Sil's parts of the story as much, just too much politics! However, Sil's parts were a lot shorter than Tamri's so it ended up being fine. Everything is very nicely wrapped up, pacing was good, and nothing felt rushed. In this book Tamri decides to go off on her own to further explore the power and teachings the Lightning Queen dragon can provide. Meanwhile, the surrounding kingdoms are under threat of invasion...only Sil and Tamri can make the changes needed to divert disaster.

Characters (5/5): Tamri grows a lot as a character and I really enjoyed her parts of the story. Sil is also in the story quite a bit and, although I don’t enjoy her as much as a character, she does learn to navigate politics better. I thought all the characters, even the side characters, were really well done. They were all engaging and fun to read about.

Setting (5/5): I continue to really love this world full of dragons and magic. Rivet does an amazing job with making a whole and complete world here that is very fun to go on adventures through.

Writing/Drawing Style (4/5): This book is very well written and easy to read. The book changes POV between Tamri and Sil. I looked forward to Tamri’s parts a lot more because they were just full of more excitement and adventure. I also really enjoyed watching Tamri and Heath together. Sil’s parts were a bit boring and I didn’t feel like she really grew much throughout the series. The story was well paced and things came together nicely at the end, nothing felt rushed or forced.

My Summary (4.5/5): Overall this was a solid fantasy series that I really enjoyed. I would definitely recommend this series if you are looking for an action-packed fantasy with dragons and magic. Rivet does a very good job with characters, world-building, action scenes, and creating a well-paced story. I am considering going back to read Rivet's other series (which takes place before this one) so that I can learn the story of The Fire Queen. I also plan on checking out Rivet’s other series. ( )
