I’ve wondered off and on why I read these types of mpreg books. I’ve come to the conclusion it’s because they are simplistic, end in HEAs, are quick reads, and because the books are free. Also, when I don’t want to take time to read a novel these fit the bill. I’ve also come to realize, that these kind of mpreg stories, not just from this particular author, but others like her, are basically Chick Lit fiction. Mpreg stories are female fantasies of being insanely desired by a male who wants nothing more than to claim her forever and ever, and pump her full of babies. Of course, if one writes a story like mpreg with women as the MC, it characterizes the woman as a woman of questionable reputation. It’s safer to substitute a male character. I’m sure at some point I’ll stop reading this kind of mpreg book and shift over to more Fantasy and Sci-Fi that will portray a unique form of pregnancy and birth that actually makes sense for how a male could give birth, rather than the thinly disguised births in this kind of simple mpreg story of giving birth through their butts. There’s nothing wrong with mpreg. It’s Chick Lit, simplistic, and fills a niche for quick reads. I’ll also be labeling these kind of mpreg stories as Chick Lit from now on when I list them on Goodreads, because that’s what they are.
This book was everything I mentioned above. Simple plot, a quick read, with nice characters. It had the usual instant lust/love. Marking/Knotting/Pregnancy. I thought the plot was cute with the twin brother confusion. Other than that, it was the same usual thing. Nothing makes this story stand out or memorable.
Gemini Kisses for the Omega was a quick way to pass the time. I wouldn’t re-read this, but if the author offers free books again, I’ll likely pick them up. I give this book 3 Stars because it fits the bill for a fast, fluffy, simple read.
