This was one of those freebies that you pick up where you anticipate lots of growled 'mine, instalove, with a sad arse excuse for a plot to hang all the sex from, and a cliffhanger ending to force you to buy the next book. Well, guess what, you'd be wrong. Apart from the cliffhanger part and I have something positive to say about that too. Yes there is the occasional growled 'mate/mine' but, come on, it's a shifter story. That's a rite of passage for such things. And they are few and far between, sprinkled carefully at just the right points for maximum effect. See here's the thing, this author can write. The plot (at the point where this one stops) appears to be well thought out. Yes, this book ends on a cliffhanger which would normally send me into a spiralling rage but no, I popped straight to Amazon to see if I could get the other two books to finish off the trilogy. Imagine my disappointment when I realised I would have to outlay 5 quid to finish the story (most of my favourite authors don't charge that much for a book). Except, there was a collection of all three books... Based on the other prices I figured I'd be looking at £6 . Nope. 99p! I'm happy to risk it for 99p. In fact that isn't a risk, I need to know how this story ends (although I'm more than a little wary about the mpreg-this isn't a spoiler, it's in the title line).
