An easy read. What started out seeming like a fairly predictable romance turned into more of a gentle story of a woman rediscovering herself.

I liked revisiting Paris through the descriptions of the city. ( )

2022 pandemic read.

Hannah is on her way to Amsterdam with her boyfriend, Simon for his sister's wedding, when the train on which they are traveling separates, leaving her headed for Paris. Hannah blames a Frenchman named Leo for her plight because neither of them heard the announcements due to the music he was playing. With no belongings and nobody she knows in Paris, Hannah is stuck with Leo, but being stranded turns out to be an adventure that she never could have predicted.

The Paris Connection adds nothing new to the lost and alone trope, but the sights of Paris that Hannah sees does give the story more depth. Hannah is a bit annoying as someone who can't or won't take charge of her own life, while Simon is very one dimensional as Hannah's boyfriend, making it difficult to understand why she hooked up with him in the first place. Leo is fun but also doesn't add much to the story that is more about Hannah finding herself than about a romance. Overall, The Paris Connection is a passably average story that isn't bad but doesn't have enough to make it more than a quick, light read. ( )
