Chronicles of the Stone Veil #5
The conclusion of a series is always bittersweet. Having gotten to know the main characters, invested in them, rooted for them, followed them, and wondered how the prophecy would play out…well…it was sad to say goodbye to them although it was also nice to know what finally happened to them in the end. I believe this is the end of this series but can also see that there could be a spinoff if the author were so inclined.
What I liked:
* Finley: Strong, clever, loving, kind, good friend, accepting, stubborn, lethal, intriguing.
* Carrick: Demi-god, immortal, strong, intelligent, interesting, protective, there for those he cares for.
* Zora: Restrained, guarded, bright, mysterious, someone I want to know more about – can see her and the Gods in a future story/series…perhaps.
* The supporting characters: Zaid, Boral, Rainey, Myles, Titus, Maddox
* The twists and turns.
* The running of the gauntlet.
* Watching the further development of the romances.
* Wondering how the prophecy would play out – and then finding out how it did.
* The conclusion and knowing some have a happily ever after
* Finding out who aligns with Finley to fulfill the prophecy.
* Thinking about Amell’s situation and wondering how difficult it might be to have been in his situation
* Wondering what will happen in Hades, Faere, on Earth and what the group of gods will get up to next.
* All of it really except…
What I didn’t like”
* Kymaris: Evil dark fae and queen of the underworld
* Those that supported Kymaris
* Not knowing for sure what happens to some of the characters that I grew to like.
Did I like this book? Yes
Did I enjoy the series? Definitely
Would I read more by this author? Yes
