His words had won her, heart and soul, but who was this man she'd agreed to wed? Chase Forster listed plenty of good reasons to marry Leslie Baynton--her intelligence, their common interests, the understanding and compassion she showed him, a virtual stranger--but did the lady really want to be his e-mail-order bride? Falling for a man she'd never met was a little bit crazy, but as soon as she heard his warm, deep voice, Leslie traded logic for an instant family. Wooed by computer and full of hope, she ran to his arms--but would their sudden marriage work? Brimming with intriguing possibilities and more than a few surprises, Kathy Lynn Emerson's latest novel plumbs the pleasures of courtship and the intricacies of a merrily modern marriage! He thought he knew her better than any woman he'd ever met, but when a tender caress taught him volumes about his bride, could he be certain it was love? Keine Bibliotheksbeschreibungen gefunden. |

I tried to like this book; I'm a fan of marriage-of-convenience stories and this one had a very interesting plot, but the author didn't handle the execution well.
1. Although Chase and Leslie have built a comfortable friendship through their e-mails, their romance never got a chance to develop since all their focus was in taking care of two teenagers. In the end, their HEA wasn't convincing at all.
2. Leslie's rocky relationship with her older sister went unresolved while I didn't think the author should have left it as she did. (On the other hand, I loved how their nephew's problem wasn't completely resolved. It was much realistic that way.)
3. The author threw in a few details that would have been better if they were left out. For instance, does Leslie want a baby or not? Seemed like the author made a big deal about it, when Leslie and Chase were discussing the terms of their marriage, but after that there was no mention about it. What was the point of that?
Maybe if the author had a longer word count to work with, this book might have been a little better. Anyway, I suggest you skip this book. It's too under-developed to be a pleasant read. ( )
