This prequel to the next generation of Rixon Raiders gets us established to all the kids that will have their own stories but this quick read follows Avery Chase (Cameron’s son) and Miley. Miley is determined to be the best at all she does especially in journalism because she knows she needs this to get to the college of her dreams so she did what she did and now all of the school hates her. Avery is not only crushed by her betrayal but he is angry. Avery wants to hate her but residual feelings still linger but can he let go of the anger or will it fester with all the stress added on top? I loved Miley and the friendship she had with Lily and Ashleigh. I also loved her determination and strength. Avery had a lot on his plate with the pressure of his teammates/ peers, football, college decisions but ultimately I loved that when he made a decision he went all in. Seeing our guys as dads was just the topping on the cake that will only get better as we go. ( )
