This book is from the perspective of a little girl as her relationship with her father changes as he deals with depression. Authentic message about families that deal with mental health issues and parental relationships through tough times. ( ) I really love this! It’s a great book for kids understanding depression in those around them and/or even themselves. I love that it depicts the adult getting help and getting better but that it doesn’t fully go away but the kid and adult can still get through it together. The illustrations are also beautiful and wonderfully illustrate the different emotions in the coloring. This story is about a young girl whose father is struggling with clinical depression. He has times when he goes “in the blue” and her sunlight just cannot penetrate. It is semi-autobiographical and is a sweet portrayal of how children perceive and cope with parents with mental illness. Recommended for K-5. keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
