Great fun in an early chapter book, just as one can safely expect from Pinkwater. A little surreal, but with plenty of heart. ( )

If you always wanted to know what happened to the spacemouse explorer mountaineer toboggan team and you like sing-a-longs with nonsensical lyrics then this is the book for you.

Review: This story is about a boy who feels left behind when his mom decides to redecorate everything, so she lets him pick out some new wallpaper for his own room. This wallpaper has some special effects that he eventually enjoys. This wallpaper comes alive and the black hole sucks him into it. He goes on a great adventure with spacemice and tours another world. This story is science fiction because it talks about him going into another world and defying scientific laws, but in the end, the reader finds out that he was just dreaming, which means that this could actually happen. He could have a dream that this all happened, so this story is also realistic fiction. ( )
