Wow, Just Wow. this book had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. perfect for people who enjoyed Holly Jackson. the characters where unexpectedly complex and the story line while direct was still so enjoyable to read. Lots of twists and turns and an ending that surprised me. 5/5 10/10 whatever ratting you rate it it was great.

I received this book for review as part of LibraryThing's early review program.
Just Weird! That was my main takeaway after finishing. There was a lot going on in this book and it just never quite came together for me. There were two things that made this a harder sell for me: I instantly really did like the writing style and I don't really like memory-based mysteries. While I don't think this is a bad book, and there's probably an audience that would like this, I did not. I found there to be a few to many characters and perspectives in this book. It led to a lot of moving pieces to keep track of, especially when you had in the different memory issues the characters were experiencing. It made me feel the whole time that there was no way all the threads could be tied up. I ended up not being satisfied with how this book was tied up. It felt very underwhelming. There were definitely things I was curious about, but so much of the mystery at the end takes a back seat to the Tucker-Blythe relationship. Blythe experiences a big twist at the end, but it felt like that was never dealt with emotionally because of the relationship that emerged, which annoyed me. I also just had a lot of difficulty suspending my disbelief about the plot. It's like most conspiracies: I just don't believe in everyone's ability to keep this many secrets. There were also a couple of plot points that were just completely eye roll worthy to me. I do think this would have been a more enjoyable read if I was younger but I still think I wouldn't have loved it. This is clearly an upper-YA novel based on the language and plot, but there's also no subtlety in the writing. The discussions of sexuality, conversion therapy, mental health, etc. seems aimed at a much younger audience. Teenagers have access to the internet. Overall, I didn't hate this but it didn't hook me, and there were parts that bored me or annoyed me. I think there is an audience that would like this however.

A group of close friends go to a small school run by a laboratory that employs all of their parents. When one of the friends begins behaving erratically, the situation spirals until they learn a dark secret that affects all of them. ( )

What fun! This is a really well-done YA thriller despite the premise being slightly outlandish. The pacing is perfect and the characters are an intriguing cast, particularly the twins Tucker and Tanya, although our narrator is a bit bland. The requisite romantic subplot did not slow down the action and was very believable.

I received a free copy of the book from Tundra Books for review. ( )

I won this book in a giveaway.

I am not one to grab for Young Adult books anymore, but I have always enjoyed Kelley Armstrong and this one sounded really good.

When I first started this, I was not sure it was going to be for me though. Everything going on did catch my attention and does leave you wanting to know what exactly is happening though. I personally did not care for the all of the little side information since it was more young adult focused. However; this does mention some more serious topics like child sexual abuse and mental health.

I ended up skimming some of the chapters as I was losing some interest as the story went on.

Overall, this one was just ok for me. ( )
