Finding You by Tanya Eavenson is a sweet, heartwarming novella. Although part of the Whispers in Wyoming series, it is easily a standalone story. New beginnings and second chances do come around again but will the grief of a devastating past allow Dallas to love again? The characters are relatable and likable, and the author portrayed them with depth and authenticity as they work through difficult situations. I especially enjoyed Aunt Ruth, who is witty and is definitely not in the matchmaker role (wink, wink!) Watching Dallas and Gabe's relationship grow and mature kept my interest. Readers who enjoy contemporary romance will not want to miss this story of finding joy and a love that brings healing. I was given a complimentary copy of the book through JustReadTours and was not required to write a positive review. The opinions are my own. ( )

Dallas is a woman who has lost everything and is looking to put all of the painful memories of her past behind her, move as far away as possible, and get a fresh start. Gabe and his young daughter Cindi also are looking for a new beginning, and end up purchasing Dallas’s old home for their own fresh start. When Gabe finds a hidden treasure in the attic that he’s sure is worth a lot of money he can’t help but call Dallas and offer to give her what is rightfully hers. What he ends up giving her is much more than any tangible treasure, as they both find what each is looking for in one another. Maybe the new beginning they’re both craving is right in front of them.

My heart instantly went out to Dallas, Gabe, and Cindi and all they had lost before the story truly begins. I cannot even begin to imagine the overwhelming loss that all of the main characters feel, but seeing them all strengthen one another is truly inspiring. Though a short read, the author does an incredible job of helping you connect with these characters, even if you’re not in their world for very long. It is very Hallmark-esque, with a cookie cutter feel, is unbelievably predictable, yet it’s quite enjoyable at the same time. I caught myself smiling more than once at Cindi’s childlike faith and the wit that comes from Dallas’s matchmaking aunt, and was sad to see it end.

I loved being apart of this world that oozes heart and charm, and is very character driven. I do wish there could’ve been a little less predictability, and maybe the narrative could’ve been aa tad longer, but other than that it was a joy to read.

*I have voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book which I read through Kindle Unlimited with JustRead Tours. All views and opinions expressed are completely honest, and my own. ( )

Looking for a quick and satisfying read? Finding You by Tanya Eavenson might be the perfect solution.

This little novella has a lot of hard and a lot of heart. Both Gabe and Dallas are grieving the losses of their spouses. Dallas’s solution is to escape her pain by selling her home and taking a job in Wyoming. Gabe’s solution is to bury himself in work. But when the two finally officially meet, the interest and attraction simmers under the surface between them.

Eavenson does an excellent job of showing how loving one person doesn’t mean you can’t love another and how your heart can expand to love someone new if you are brave enough to grasp that gift. With some tender and gentle moments with Gabe and his daughter and some lighter moments with Aunt Ruth (who thinks she’s sly but we all see what she’s up to), this novella is worth the read.

It's been a while since I've read Tanya Eavenson and this book reminded me how sweet and tender her books are. Dallas and Gabe's story of finding love after devastating loss was heart-warming. Their need to find a fresh start after blinding grief was understandable and relatable. Gabe's daughter provided innocent faith and love while Dallas' aunt brought mischief and laughter to the plot. Gabe's gentle pursuit of Dallas' timid and broken spirit was incredibly romantic and I enjoyed learning about rodeos, horse training, and life on the ranch.

If you're looking for a quick, sweet read, this book is perfect for you. I received the book via JustRead Publicity Tours and was under no obligation to post a positive comment. All opinions are my own. ( )
