Going into Romeo and Gabriella’s story I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I knew it would be a crazy ride of emotions since Gabriella came back from LA a little different. Gabriella is so amazing and laid back that when she first met Romeo, she didn’t care who he was or what he did for a living, she just knew they had an instant connection. As we continued reading, we knew something bad happened for her to pack up and leave LA in the dust because what we see of them in the past, they were amazing together and fit in every way, but I wasn’t ready for that big ball to drop. Now I will not justify him or his actions in any way, because if it was me, I’d always have doubts about him, but the work that he put in on himself was remarkable. Yea I’m not a fan of that trope and I usually stay far away from them so I was hoping against hope I could be turned around and when I saw how he went through it all to better himself and change I was somewhat more tolerable towards him. Gabriella held so strong and knew her worth, so he had a lot of work ahead of him to even be considered in the same realm as her. I did like this new Romeo who went all out to woo her and try to get her back, but it still stung that his actions destroyed any love I would have towards him, but the storyline and family scenes were what really held me together. Do I love Romeo? Not really, do I like the new him? More than I should, but Gabriella found a way to forgive and love him again so I won’t completely hate him. ( )
